January 23, 2026

LNID would like to provide an overall operational update.

WATER SUPPLY UPDATE

As snow continues to fall in the mountains, LNID monitors snow pillow and District water reservoir information maintained by Alberta Environment and Protected Areas and shared weekly by the Water Infrastructure and Operations Branch (WIOB) of Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation (AGI).

Snow Pillows:

Gardiner Creek, South Racehorse Creek, and Lost Creek South snow pillows accumulations track near or above upper quartile for this time of year.

Oldman Reservoir: 64.2% of full supply level (FSL)

Oldman Reservoir levels have increased since December, however, this is expected to slow as temperatures are forecasted to return to below freezing.

LNID CONSTRUCTION & MAINTENANCE UPDATE

Progress continues to be made on the Lateral A20 Pipeline Project south of Highway 519 near Granum, with approximately 6.2km installed of the 7.7km pipeline. The project will be completed and operational for the 2026 irrigation season.
